3 tools for leaders to get HR analytics insights, fast [Feature Update]

Sound familiar?

Today we’re announcing three new features in intelliHR that will make accessing, understanding and implementing the insights you get from HR analytics much easier.

By the end of this post, you’re going to see why HR analytics will be your new best friend (the easy-going type, that is, not the high maintenance one).

IntelliHR’s new analytics updates:

1. Understand and act on your HR data with Insights

Sometimes it can be hard to know where to start with analytics in your HR system. What’s important? What’s not? Where should I be focusing my efforts?

Our new Insights panel on the Employee Satisfaction and Attrition analytics pages in intelliHR uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to identify and present what’s important for you in an easy-to-understand format.

Let’s look at our Employee Satisfaction report, for example.

Using this demo data, we can see that 11 people are happier than they normally are, 19 people are as happy as usual, and 5 people are less happy than usual.

While this is good to know, as a HR manager, what can I do with these stats?

Instead of eyeballing each graph on the page to try and figure out what’s going on, the Insights tool analyses your data in real-time to look for anomalies, shifts and meaningful trends.

Looking at the predictors of happiness, a key insight here is that older staff tend to be happier than younger people… those pesky millennials!

Looking at the predictors for lower happiness, Insights pinpoints that staff in the ‘Contact Centre’ have a lower level of happiness than elsewhere, which is something HR would most likely want to explore further.

To investigate this further, you can filter the rest of the page by this business unit and drill down on the six people in the contact center who aren’t happy.

From there, you can quickly identify:

• Who they are

• What the issues they reported were

• What pay level in the business they are at

• Their location (looking at the graph below, they seem to be concentrated in Brisbane!)

In the data table below, you can see each of the six employees, and the keywords column on the right (pulling directly from their wellness check-in surveys) show that there might be some bullying occurring in the contact center, which is obviously critical for HR to know and act on.

2. Weekly updates with intelli Highlights

The intelli Highlights email brings the top analytics and trends happening in your business right now, right to your inbox every week.

Without having to go searching for them, you can see at-a-glance where you’re performing well on a range of HR metrics like satisfaction and wellness, where you’re not performing so well, and any red flags or areas you should be paying attention to.

For example, in the below email, we can see that Employee Satisfaction isn’t looking great, with the red arrow telling us that our employees’ happiness is lower on average than it was the previous week.

Scrolling down further to the Wellness metric, we can see that 10 of our employees ‘need help’ or aren’t coping very well right now. Again, as an HR manager, you would want to know about this.

3. Find insights in the flow of work with the intelliHR Analytics Search chrome extension

Lastly, another really easy way to get insights from intelliHR fast is with our new Google Chrome Browser extension, intelliHR Analytics Search which helps you to discover new insights about your business and people when you’re in the flow of work.

Perhaps you’re researching training courses for your staff, and you want to know where your skills gaps are, or how much you’ve invested in training.

Simply download the intelliHR Chrome Extension and when you’re browsing a webpage, if you click the extension you’ll see a list of intelli reports related to its content that you might be interested in.

What’s next?

Our insights panel, digest email and the chrome extension help you to quickly and easily understand your business and people at-a-glance while pointing out meaningful trends and anomalies in your data that as a HR manager or C Suite, you should know about.

This gives you the data to back up what’s working well and put more resources into it, or take corrective action where it’s needed before things spiral out of control.
